Intersex is an umbrella term for people who are born with variations in sex characteristics (chromosomes, genitals, gonads, and sex hormones) that do not fit the strict binary definition of male or female bodies. Not all intersex people are queer or trans. The highlighted books have intersex characters and are written by queer authors unless recommended by an intersex person as positive representation.
